Reorders and name personalization for crew uniforms
You do not need a company web store to keep a crew in matching shirts. You need a decorator that keeps your files, a roster you update, and a reorder rhythm. Battle Born Clothing runs crew programs that way for trade companies nationwide. We do not run online company stores, on purpose.
What we keep on file
- Your vector artwork and separations
- The digitized embroidery file ($18.99 paid once) and the thread color numbers
- Shirt styles, colors and the last roster
- Logo sizes and placements from the approved proof
A reorder is a message that says 'same as last time, here are the new sizes.' We send a proof from the kept files, you approve it, and production starts.
What a reorder costs
| Reorder | Per piece | One-time | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 K500 polos for new hires, embroidered (1-11 pieces quoted; shown at the 12-23 rate for reference) | $19.55 | none (digitizing already paid) | $117.30 |
| 24 PC61 tees, embroidered left chest | $12.04 | none | $288.96 |
| 48 PC61 tees, front and back print, dark | $15.22 | $40 screens (rebuilt each run) | $770.56 |
| 144 PC61 tees, embroidered left chest | $10.04 | none | $1,445.76 |
Embroidery reorders have no setup cost, which is why polos and work shirts are the easiest to top up one at a time. Screen print reorders rebuild the screens at $20 each, so batching tees into a 48-piece run twice a year is cheaper than monthly handfuls. Reorders under 12 pieces are quoted per job.
Names, titles and truck numbers
Names turn a shirt into a uniform and make reorders personal: when a tech leaves, you reorder for the replacement, not for everyone. We embroider names on the right chest of polos and over the right pocket of Red Kap work shirts, and print or press them on tees. Names are quoted per job as a line item. Details on the name personalization page.
Keeping colors matching across years
Pick a style that has been in the line a long time (PC61, K500, SP24) and record the exact color name. Suppliers occasionally change dye lots, so a tee from 2024 and one from 2026 may differ slightly. Thread colors are recorded by number and do not drift. If exact matching matters, order a larger batch less often.
A reorder rhythm that works
- Initial order: 4-6 shirts per person plus extras in L and XL.
- Quarterly: embroidered polos and work shirts for new hires, any quantity.
- Twice a year: a 48+ screen-print run of tees to refresh the bin and cover growth.
- Annually: review styles and colors; retire a shirt that has gone out of the supplier line before it strands you mid-year.
Replacing a shirt that went out of the line
Suppliers retire styles. When a shirt you have reordered for three years disappears, we pick the closest current style from the same maker, match the color as closely as the new line allows, and run the logo at the same size from your kept files. Expect the new style to look slightly different next to the old one; most crews phase it in over a reorder or two. We will tell you on the quote if a style is being discontinued so you can order a larger final batch.
Keeping the artwork current
Phone numbers, license numbers and URLs change. When you tell us, we update the back-print file and burn new screens ($20 each); the front logo screens and the embroidery file stay the same. Keep one person at your company as the contact for artwork so two versions do not end up in circulation.
Why no online store
Company stores shift the ordering work to each employee, add a margin to cover the platform, and ship one shirt at a time. For a trade company of 5 to 100 people, a roster and a batch order is cheaper and lands on the same day. If you want employees to pay for extras, we can invoice the company and you handle it on payroll.
Questions
How long does a reorder take?
Same 28-day standard from proof approval. Small embroidery reorders often finish sooner, but we quote 28 days.
Can I change the logo on a reorder?
Yes. A new logo means new screens ($20 each) and new digitizing ($18.99).
Can you store our blank shirts?
No. We order blanks per job from SanMar (Reno first) and S&S. Customer-supplied shirts are $2 per item handling.
